We offer garden design services from planting design through to concept and masterplanning.
Following a free initial consultation we will prepare a design proposal based on your needs. The design proposal will set out clearly the aims of the project, the cost of proposed services and any agreed timescale.
Generally speaking, proposed services include:
Survey of the garden : Anything under 150m2 is usually carried out by the designer, any garden of a larger or more complex nature may need a professional topographical survey.
Concept designs : 2 to 3 concept plans are presented, to be ‘honed down’ to a final masterplan. This enables the designer and the client to explore ideas and layouts as well as discuss material choices and types of desired planting.
Masterplan : Following the design concept meeting a final masterplan is produced detailing layout, levels and finishes. The plan is now in a format to be presented to potential landscapers.
Planting Schedules : Generally as part of the design proposal a planting schedule is produced, this comes with a planting moodboard which illustrates the planting feel and the most important plant combinations within the scheme. This is then used by the designer to supply plants and set out on site during the installation.
Planting Plans : Can be produced if preferred, these have a higher level of detail a schedule as they contain scaled placement of plants and can be used as a ‘map’ by anyone planting up the garden. This is particularly useful for a larger, more complex design which may need phasing over a number of years.

I have a passion for the design and enhancement of the outdoor environment, whether it be within a domestic scale or the larger public space my ethos is to engage, protect and enhance spaces to delight, provide relaxation and improve wellbeing.
I love working with clients to transform spaces whether they are concerned with the improvement of a small back yard or a public park, the challenge to discover the intrinsic ‘sense of place’ and create a more functional, beautiful version of that space is integral to my practice.
I am interested in revealing a sites potential with integrity, creating atmosphere and adding to the human experience of that environment by placing the client, end user, stakeholder at the heart of the place.
