About Johanna
With a background in Fine Art, Johanna retrained as a garden designer in 2004, and has worked for Local Authority and a large, global architectural firm for many years as a landscape architect, delivering large scale projects in Healthcare, Education, Residential sectors, and Hospitality as well as hundreds of high end domestic gardens.
Johanna has a passion for the design and enhancement of the outdoor environment
Currently a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers, Johanna has a passion for the design and enhancement of the outdoor environment and loves working with clients to transform spaces, whether they are concerned with the improvement of a small back yard or a public park, the challenge to discover the intrinsic ‘sense of place’ and create a more functional, beautiful version of that space is integral to her practice.
Strong Structural Elements
Johanna's approach is characterised by the use of strong structural elements, using clean lines to define modern, minimalistic layouts which then contrast to the softness of the planting elements within her schemes. Design is approached in layers, building a sophisticated and elegant aesthetic which should appear effortless.
