Modern Minimalist Garden, Bramhall ~ 2021-2022
My client's brief was to create a modern, minimalist garden which was suitable for grown up entertaining whilst still providing adequate space for recreation and sport .
The scheme mirrors the linear construction of the families new extension and has generous proportions to the hard landscaping to offer flexible use of the space. I created a 'Zoned' lounge area around a Corten steel firepit using grey inset porcelain paving within a wider composite decked area which was run flush to the internal floor finishes.
A second patio area with overhead mini pergola or 'overhang' was created to house an outdoor kitchen which will form part of a second landscaping phase. Boundary fences and slatted screens internally over privacy from neighbouring gardens and provide recreation space for the couples children who love sport and trampolining!
The planting was used to complement the clean lines of the hard landscaping and create a modern, lush and semi-tropical look using hardy plants.
Following concept and detailed design work, I was asked to oversee the design management of the construction phase and implementation of planting.
