Beautiful Family Garden Withington
Our brief for this wonderful garden was to create different spaces for the family to relax, entertain and grow edibles, whilst still retaining a good sized lawn for the teenage children to play football.
We designed the garden with a modern, linear layout, which we softened by using clay pavers to edge the paving and pathways in hardwood decking to reference boardwalks. This blend of modern and traditional elements references the period property, whilst still feeling fresh and new. Our goal was to create a 'journey' through the garden, offering plenty to discover as you move from one space to the next. Thoughtful combinations of materials, laying patterns, and lush, deep planting borders all helped bring this vision to life.
The clients love cooking and dining so we worked with them to create an outdoor kitchen with plenty of prep space and the option to cook on gas and charcoal BBQ's under a weatherproof pergola to allow for all weather dining.
The existing hot tub was re-situated with pleached trees providing privacy from neighbouring gardens and screened with slatted trellis to 'zone' the decked area from the main garden creating a calm oasis with beautiful views over the productive garden.
